Information You Provide

Depending on how you use the Website, you may voluntarily choose to provide us with personal information, which includes any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate you (“Personal Information”). Whether you choose to share your Personal Information with us is completely up to you, but please keep in mind that you may not be able to effectively use parts of the Website and related functionality without sharing your Personal Information. Registration and Portals. We will collect certain Personal Information from you, such as your name, email address, address, birthdate, telephone number, military information such as branch, rank and dates of service, and credit card information (which is encrypted) if you register for the Website and create an account (“Account”) as a member. If you are approved for an Account as a member, you will gain access to the online Member portal. The credit card information that you provide in connection with a membership is not stored by us, but is stored and used by Blackbaud Merchant Services, for it to process your membership, and will be subject to Blackbaud Merchant Services privacy policy: https://www.blackbaud.com/company/privacy-policy/north-america.

 

Members who have Accounts may provide additional information within their respective Account. We collect information including your gift/donation history, membership and event registration history, member portal history, and email preferences including topics of interest, security incidents, complaints. You may also read and post reviews for Reciprocal Clubs. Also collected is member portal action history such as when the member logged in and whether they opened an email.

 

Online Giving. We will collect certain Personal Information from you if you make a donation through the Company’s “Donate Now” form. Such Personal Information includes your name, address, email address, and amount of your donation. Online donation transactions are processed by Blackbaud Merchant Services, an independent third party. The credit card information that you provide in connection with a donation is not stored by us, but is stored and used by Blackbaud, for it to process your donation. If you wish to make an online donation, your Personal Information relating to such donation will be collected by Blackbaud and will be subject to Blackbaud Merchant Service’s terms of use: https://www.blackbaud.com/company/terms-of-use and privacy policy: https://www.blackbaud.com/company/privacy-policy/north-america. By clicking the “Process” button, you authorize the Company to charge your credit card and to process your donation.

 

Hotel Reservations. We will collect certain Personal Information from you if you make a reservation at the Marine’s Memorial Club & Hotel (the “Hotel”). When you click the “Book Your Stay” button, you will be directed to our reservations page, which will request Personal Information including your name, address, email address, telephone number, company, loyalty program/ids, preferences, identification/passport numbers, anniversary, birthdate, dates of your stay, and credit card information. Online reservation transactions, including credit card charges for the reservations, are processed by Agilysys, Inc., an independent third party. The credit card information that you provide in connection with a reservation is not stored by us, but is stored and used by Agilysys, Inc., for it to process your reservation, and will be subject to the Agilysys, Inc. terms and conditions: https://www.agilysys.com/en/disclaimer/ and privacy policy: https://www.agilysys.com/en/privacy-policy/. Similarly, if you wish to make an online reservation, your Personal Information relating to such reservation will be collected by Agilysys, Inc., and will be subject to the Agilysys, Inc. terms and conditions and privacy policy linked above. By clicking the “Book Your Stay” button, you authorize your credit card to be charged and your reservation processed.

 

Events. We will collect certain Personal Information from you if you have an event on our premises, including your name, address, email address, telephone number, company, and credit card information. Online event transactions are processed by TripleSeat Software, LLC, an independent third party. The credit card information that you provide in connection with a reservation is not stored by us, but is stored and used by TripleSeat Software, LLC, for it to process your event reservation, and will be subject to TripleSeat Software, LLC terms and conditions: https://tripleseat.com/terms-of-service/ and privacy policy: https://tripleseat.com/privacy-policy/.

 

Applications. If you wish to apply for one of our scholarships or explore career opportunities with us, you may submit applications for each of these through the Website. Personal Information included in an application may include your name, email address, phone number, address, Zoom (etc.) username and information about your educational background (schools, major, minor, GPA, SAT/ACT/etc. scores, and graduation date), as well as information contained in documents submitted through the Website, such as in a resume, cover letter, or transcript. Additional information such as volunteer experience, household income, and military service background is also collected for scholarship applications. Scholarship application data is collected through forms hosted by SurveyMonkey Apply and all such data is also subject to SurveyMonkey Apply’s privacy policy: https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/legal/privacy/. Job application data is collected through forms hosted by Moore Information Services, Inc. and all such data is also subject to Moore Information Services, Inc.’s terms and privacy policies: http://backgroundscreeningcompanies.com/privacy/ .

 

Online Store. The Company also runs an online store, the Marine Club Store (the “Store”), at https://www.marineclubstore.com/. If you wish to make a purchase through the Store, we will collect Personal Information such as your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, billing address, and credit card information. Online transactions through the Store are processed by Volusion, LLC, an independent third party. The credit card information that you provide in connection with a reservation is not stored by us, but is stored and used by Volusion, LLC, for it to process your purchase. Correspondence With Us. The Website contains a “Sign Up” box, a “Contact Us” page, a “Stay Connected” page, and various other methods where you may sign up for newsletters and updates. If utilize any of these contact resources, we will collect Personal Information such as your name and email address. You may elect to include additional Personal Information in communications that you send to us through these resources.

 

Reciprocal Club Reviews. You may also read and post review for Reciprocal Clubs on the “Reciprocal Clubs” page and may choose to include your name and email. You may request deletion of any posts you make by emailing member@mmaf1946.org. If you have questions about how to remove specific content or if you would like additional assistance with deletion, you can contact member@mmaf1946.org. We may also choose not to post reviews that are harassing, contain profanity or other obscene content, or are inappropriate in any way. Although we offer deletion capability for our services, you should be aware that the removal of content may not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of that content or information posted through the services.

 

Information We Collect As You Access Our Website

Information from our Business Partners and Service Providers

Third parties that assist us with our business operations also collect information (including Personal Information and Usage Data) about you through the Website and share it with us. For example, our vendors collect and share information with us to help us detect and prevent fraud and assist with our impact and data analysis, as well as confirm information for us to process Store orders.

 

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION:

Our primary goal in collecting your Personal Information is to respond to and fulfill your requests of us, or to help you use the Website. For example, we will use your Personal Information to process an online donation or reservation at the Hotel. We may use Usage Information to analyze trends, administer and improve the Website, and monitor traffic and usage patterns for information security purposes and internal marketing and development purpose. In addition, your Personal Information may also be used to share special discounts and offers from us or our third-party providers or to send newsletters, event reminders, and other reminders and updates through messages or other alerts, or as otherwise required by law.

 

WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH:

We do not sell, trade, or rent your Personal Information or Usage Data to others. However, we may share and disclose information as described at the time the information is collected or as follows:

 

Service Providers

We may share your Personal Information that we collect with companies that perform services for us, such as analyzing data, storing, and maintaining data, and securely destroying the data. They have access to Personal Information as needed to perform their functions but may not use or disclose your Personal Information for other purposes. Scholarship application and job application processing is currently handled by SurveyMonkey Apply and Moore Information Services, Inc., respectively; donation processing is handled by Blackbaud; reservations for the Hotel and payments are handled by Agilysys, Inc.; reservations and payments for events are handled by TripleSeat; and orders from the Store are handled by Volusion, LLC; they only use your data to the extent necessary to process your application, donation, or reservation, as applicable, and in accordance with their privacy policies. We also share Usage Information with our marketing and development service providers, Cendryn and RKD Group, to assist with analyzing trends and to monitor traffic and usage patterns on the Website. RKD Group also RKD also receives personal information such as your name, address, and email address. We will share your Personal Information with certain other service providers in the event you are hired, namely, to effectuate your employment with us, such as administering pay and benefits.

DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS:

Some web browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature. This feature lets you tell websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. These features are not yet uniform across browsers. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by this Website. We are not responsible for any fees charged, charges applied, or actions taken by any third-party website.

 

RETENTION:

We may retain your Personal Information on internal servers for as long as the information is required to fulfill our legitimate business needs, the purposes for which the Personal Information was collected, to comply with legal obligation, or for such other period as required by law. We retain member and donation information through our third-party service provider, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, and such information is subject to the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT privacy policy linked in “Information You Provide” above.

 

SECURITY:

We take the security of your Personal Information seriously and take precautions to protect your Personal Information located on our internal servers. For example, we use standard, industry-wide, commercially reasonable security practices such as encryption, firewalls, and SSL (Secure Socket Layers) to protect Personal Information. But no method of data transmission over the Internet or data storage is 100% secure and therefore we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information on our internal servers or transmitted to or from the Website. You must maintain the security of your information as well – for example, by not sharing your password and account information with any unauthorized parties.

 

AGE RESTRICTION:

This Website is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under 13. If you become aware that your child under the age of 13 has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that an individual under 13 has created an Account and provided us with Personal Information, we will take steps to remove such information and terminate that person’s account.
