California and Midterm Elections 2018 with the New York Times

California and Midterm Elections 2018 with the New York Times

Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 6:30pm
Marines' Memorial Theatre, Second Floor
609 Sutter Street, San Francisco

Four prominent New York Times political journalists will take The Commonwealth Club stage to discuss the most consequential midterm election in a generation. What will the results mean for California and the nation? Following the California primary, Adam Nagourney, New York Times Los Angeles bureau chief, will moderate a discussion about the shape of the races, the role President Trump will play in this election, the future of polling and more. He will be joined by White House reporter Maggie Haberman, who was part of the team honored with a Pulitzer Prize in April for their coverage of Russia’s influence in the 2016 election; Nate Cohn, domestic correspondent for “The Upshot,” a data-driven blog which features a digital probability needle on The New York Times website on each election night; and national political correspondent Alex Burns.

Inforum is the Commonwealth Club's Innovation Lab. We host live events in San Francisco to connect the Bay Area’s most interesting people with inspiring thought leaders from tech, pop culture, politics, food, and business. Our panels and interviews go beyond the sound bite and offer deeper engagement with the world today. Our mission is to create meaningful conversations around the things that matter. We aim to engage debate on civic issues and bring inspiring ideas and powerful stories to our community. Dedication to quality programming, complemented by a passion for informed conversation, makes Inforum a catalyst for inspiration, investigation, and action.
